Every Fourth of July since 1995, fellow boat owners, marinas, kent and cecil county buisnesses have donated time and money into an outstanding spectacle on the Sassafras River. Please join us again this year for the parade and fireworks
The parade starts promptly at 5pm on 4th of July off of Gregg Neck Boat Yard. The parade runs down the Sassafras river to Skipjack Cove. The parade is free tot he public and participants. The parade is made up of creative volunteers who want to have a good time and compete for the Grand Prize.
The fireworks display is funded by the Georgetown Fireworks Committee and through donations collected around Kent and Cecil Counties. The show starts around 8pm or dusk. The show lasts about a half hour. The fireworks are set off from Starkey Farms and can be seen anywhere in the Georgetown Harbor. Popular viewing spots include Georgetown hill, the Granary , Kitty Knight House and surrounding marinas. |
