KIT PURPOSE This is a mandatory upfit: There is a possibility that the crimp of the oil hose to the stainless steel 90o adaptor at the remote oil filter end may not be sufficient to retain the hose. A hose end replacement kit (PN 3809479) has been developed to prevent a potential hose separation from the 90o stainless steel adaptor during normal engine operation

AFFECTED MODELS All 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, and 8.1L EFI engines with serial numbers that fall between 4012105774 and 4012119557 require the installation of the oil hose adaptor kit. The affected engines were manufactured from September 1, 2003 through February 13, 2004.
