Volvo Penta Pre-Purchase Inspection
We can help you in the decision making process and put your mind at ease.
Service Description
All engine inspections are performed by a Volvo Penta certified technician. The potential buyer shall be present at the time of the inspection. We request that buyers research the boat ahead of time, and have a basic understanding of boater safety and conduct. Our technicians are there to support you in the buying process, but we do not take sole responsibility in advising your financial investment. Appointments should be limited to the direct buyers and brokers. Sellers, representatives and other attendees must be listed on the form above. Visual inspections of Volvo Penta branded propulsion and gear units as well as ACP and trim tab systems as applicable. Oil Samples can be expedited for the cost of shipping and an additional $25-$30 per sample for next day/same day analysis. Electronic compression tests are only available on Volvo engines newer than 2010, pending all other variables. Technicians will visually check for leaks in cooling, fuel and exhaust systems. Technicians MAY NOT make repairs or attempt to disassemble engines or drives to determine where leaks originate. Technicians offer to take pictures of concerns. During the trial run, the technician will verify RPMs and speed at cruise and wide open throttle. Our team will make recommendations in a 4-5 page report documenting engine readouts during sea trial. The purpose of our report is to inform the buyer of the current condition of the engines and drives. We do not warrant or guarantee vessel performance or longevity after a survey.
